I bought the Safety Recall kit 17S09 and installed it. IT IS FIXED!!! Ford gave me no help! I have talked with many people and no one really knows what to do to resolve this issue. Has anyone else had this issue with their vehicle and if so what was the fix? I popped the hood and the reservoir or degas tank is full to the max line. Today I was driving into work and the "low coolant light, service required" light came on again. Now, I got the vehicle back last night and had no issue driving it home. They told me they sent my vehicle to a Ford Dealership to be fixed because they could not figure out the problem. They end up having my vehicle until last night. (This time I was able to drive the vehicle, the vehicle did not go into limp mode at all). They re-set the light and I drove about 1/8 of mile when the light came back on again. I called the service shop and was told to bring it back. I get my vehicle back this Monday and the following day driving to work the "low coolant light, service required" light came on again. They get my vehicle and end up replacing the coolant stove pipe which I believe houses the engine coolant level sensor. The vehicle was towed to a service shop that was covered under my third-party warranty (I bought this Ford used about a month and a half ago). Not even a mile from my house the "low coolant light, service required" light came on, directly after that I had an "Engine reaching high-temperature warning" come on and the vehicle went into limp mode. Last Friday I was driving my 2013 Ford Escape 1.6L EcoBoost to work. And, on the same weekend the MFT died hard. Needless to say it's going back to the dealer. At that point I got off the turn pike and took back roads for last 30 miles. And on the trip back it did the same thing. I backed off the gas a little and the warning went away. Yesterday I took the same 100 trip and the coolant low warning came up again. The dealer came back and said a bubble had gotten into the system and caused the sensors to trip. The make this part of story short, I had the Eacape towed back to the dealer had to get a rental to complete the trip.īTW, I checked under the hood and there were no signs or smells of over heating and the temp gauge was right in the middle. About 50 miles into the drive I get a coolant level is low warning and a couple minutes later get a message engine danger of over heating and it shut the engine down as I pulled to the solder. Purchased it used.Ģ weeks after I purchase taking 100 mile trip which most of it was turnpike drive at 65-70 miles per hour. I have a 2013 Escape SEL AWD 1.6L ecoboost with ~21,000 miles.
